Chicago Design Works: Office of Experience

  • Chicago Design Museum 108 N State St, 3rd floor Chicago, IL United States (map)

Good App Design—Whizz! Bang! Shiny objects! Too often, we designers fall prey to the “next big thing” in the design or tech communities. This includes decisions from platform selection all the way to menu behavior. Though the motivations may be different, the end result is usually the same: unfounded fashionable decisions cover up gaps in strategy and flawed solutions design. Good design evolves with the times and technology (and apps!), but it also holds true to its core principles of communication, empathy and behavior change.

This workshop details how to make the best design decisions for your customer and your client by starting with the problem, not the solution. Stop by ChiDM to become a more thoughtful designer.

This collaborative workshop with the Office of Experience will be the first in a five-part series.

OX is a performance-driven experience design firm. In an era of big bang obsession, they help forward-thinking brands define, refine and continuously evolve to meet new demands.
